Slime

Ah, slime… so easy to make. So hard to clean up. This one always ends with a mess but is sure to start off with laughter and fun! While all slime is going to be messy, this recipe is simple and easy to duplicate as needed.

We love to try to teach our kids about the different holidays through crafts and sensory activities. And indoor busy activities are great while the weather is dreary. When I share crafts and activities to do with your kids, I strive to share ones that involve the least-effort for the highest-busy-factor. So never fear, here is one very easy and popular activity: homemade slime!

Add variations by including glitter or embellishments. Using clear glue makes a different consistency but holds color much better.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup of glue (white washable school glue, or clear glue)
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 5-10 drops food coloring
  • 1/3 cup liquid starch

Directions

  1. Add glue into a mixing bowl. Stir in water until the mixture is consistent. Add food coloring and mix. While stirring, slowly pour in the liquid starch. Let set for 2 minutes.
  2. Store in sealed, airtight container for up to a week
