Kids Helping Suggestion: Recruit little helpers to shake bags and cover the chocolate with a powdered sugar coating.

Ingredients

  • 6 c Chex corn cereal
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 1/2 c semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c peanut butter (or substitute)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar
  • Gallon ziploc bag

Directions

  1. Melt butter on low setting on stovetop in large pot.
  2. Add in chocolate chips, peanut butter, and vanilla extract and mix until completely combined, stirring frequently.
  3. Add in chex mix and fold to cover entirely with chocolate mix.
  4. Section chocolate covered puppy chow into ziploc bag, leaving halfway empty, and add powdered sugar to generously cover. Shake vigorously until combined and coated.
  5. Pour into a bowl and steal some warm pieces, but then cool it completely in a sealed container in the fridge (or freezer).
  6. Continue the gallon bag process for another round or two- as needed.
