Do you ever feel like you’re out of ideas for breakfast? On the weekends, our family loves to go big for breakfast. Hy-Vee recently came out with new made-to-order breakfast items and we went recently to check it out… and it did not disappoint!
Mom is Off on the Weekends
A type of tradition that’s taken hold in our home is that mom “has off” for weekend breakfasts. (My family might not know that it’s a tradition yet, but it is. 😉 ) As a result, dad either cooks up a giant meal at home or we go out as a family for breakfast. My husband is actually an amazing cook– and breakfast is his forte. But that also leaves a whole mess throughout the kitchen which is a less-fun detail reserved for the weekends.
Hy-Vee Has New Breakfast Items
Once we heard that Hy-Vee had a new breakfast menu with only fresh, high-quality ingredients, we were excited to test out the new menu plus check out the upgraded cocktail options. We love to shop at our local Hy-Vee for groceries and the Market Grille has been somewhere we’ve enjoyed as a family for years now.
What We Ordered
The boys were ready to check out the kid’s menu. Two of them got the Mini Pancakes with Sausage and added on chocolate chips to their order. William was craving a waffle and was excited to test out the Nutella Banana Waffle. We ordered fresh fruit to share and the adults tried out the Morning Melt Sandwich. I was tempted by the Brioche French Toast, but I usually prefer a lighter breakfast and the Morning Melt was the perfect choice for me!
Convenience is Key
One of my favorite features of the Hy-Vee Market Grille is that we can easily run and grab any groceries we might need for dinner that night by simply walking into Hy-Vee. I swear we run to the grocery store daily with different ingredients I forgot on my first trip, so already being there in the morning is so convenient!
