Thick Cut French Toast

Ingredients

  • Solid loaf of bakery cinnamon bread
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tbsp heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Butter
  • Maple syrup
  • Powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200. Cut 1.5-2″ thick slices in bread loaf. Set to the side
  2. In a large bowl, mix eggs, cream, cinnamon, and vanilla until evenly consistent
  3. Dredge the bread slices into the mixture, ensuring all sides of bread are well-coated
  4. Put butter in a skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Once butter bubbles, pan fry the coated bread on one side until golden brown, and then flip and fry the remaining side 2-3 min
  5. Place finished French toast onto a baking sheet and place in the oven to keep warm while preparing rest if needed
  6. Serve with maple syrup, butter, and sprinkled powdered sugar
