DIY Deodorizer for Your Diaper Pail

Here is a quick and versatile DIY Deodorizer that can work for everywhere: bathrooms, living spaces, animal areas, nurseries. I just happen to keep them next to our Ubbi Steel Diaper Pail, Gray(affiliate).

The ingredients are all natural and safe, but they should still be kept out of reach from small children. Still, it’s nice knowing that there aren’t artificial fumes masking odors, since the Baking Soda eliminates the odor while the essential oil emits a subtle, nice smell!

What You'll Need

  • 1/2 c baking soda
  • Mason jar
  • Scrapbooking paper
  • Essential oil (of your choice, I use lemon or lavender)

Directions

  1. Start by tracing the inner lid of the mason jar onto your paper and cutting it out.
  2. Add a half-cup or so of baking soda into the jar and add a few drops of your essential oil
  3. Assemble the mason jar with the paper lid in place of the metal lid, and poke a few small holes in the paper (I used a safety pin, but a knife, pen, sewing needle, etc would work).
  4. Give the jar a little shake to stir up the oil and baking soda and wah-lah, natural diaper pail deodorizer!

Feel free to embellish further, I added a bit of gold and white twine!
